A pooja is a feast or an offering. The pooja's that are performed for the planets at Siva Baba's Temple in India are given in the form of an archana, which is an offering of flowers and fruits. An offering to a specific planet helps to increase the qualities of that planet in your life (e.g., a pooja for the Sun can invoke positive influence in aspects such as public recognition, power, personal appearance, etc.) This respectful, gracious act gains favor from the planet and invokes its blessing. In addition to offering a pooja to increase the positive energy of the planet and to neutralize any negative influence, you can communicate with the planets on a regular basis by reciting their mantra. This is a way for you to connect to the planet's energy.
